Acceptable
- Adhere to professional codes of ethics.
- Be considerate and respectful.
- Respect confidential information where designated or commonly expected.
- Adhere to ethical principles in research.
- Refrain from sexual harassment or harassment based on race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or other protected characteristics.
- Fully disclose and manage in a manner consistent with ATS policies any professional relationship, action, or other circumstance that may result in a conflict of interest.
Unacceptable
Unacceptable conduct includes, but is not limited to:
- Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning speech or actions during or in relation to ATS related activities.
- Written, verbal or physical abuse, intimidation, threats, efforts to annoy, harassment, or stalking, which in any way creates a disturbance that is disruptive, dangerous, or generates reasonable apprehension in a person or group.
- Offensive or suggestive objects, pictures, graphic commentaries, text messages, or sounds during ATS related activities.
- Breaches in standards of ethical and professional conduct (i.e. censure, reprimand, suspension, or involuntary termination of professional license, privileges, or appointments by governing bodies.)
- Findings of admissions to misconduct, sexual harassment, discrimination, or retaliation directed at persons with whom the individual interacts due to the individual’s profession.
Possible Immediate Actions or Actions After Due Process
Actions
- Expulsion and/or barred from ATS events (live or virtual), without refund of any fees paid.
- Bar from future ATS-sponsored events.
- Suspension or termination of eligibility to participate in official ATS activities.
- Suspension, termination, or denial of membership.
- Inform the employer or home institution or sister organizations of the existence and status of any disciplinary action proceeding and may inform any third party of the final decision and any sanction imposed in any disciplinary proceeding.
