Launched in 2023, the ATS MECOR Program in Southeast Asia is a dynamic initiative designed to strengthen research capacity in this diverse and rapidly developing region. Held in collaboration with the Indonesian Society of Respiratory (PDPI) in 2023, and in 2024 with the Philippine College of Chest Physicians (PCCP), the program emphasizes local and regional solutions to respiratory health challenges.

In 2025 the program’s third edition took place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in Sept. 15-19, 2025, building on the success of its two previous editions. Participants engaged in interactive learning experiences and developed research projects with the potential to impact policy and clinical practice in their countries. The 2026 edition of MECOR Southeast Asia will take place in Bali, Indonesia from Sept. 21 - 25.
