MECOR Global Strategic Pathway Program has been developed to equip the next generation of global health leaders, who are already trained in research, to take on roles in leadership and advocacy, thereby influencing ATS and Global health policy.
The course is designed to train and mentor MECOR students who have graduated from all three levels to understand the opportunities and challenges in global health, to increase skills of communication, teaching, and mentoring. The overall goal of the program is to equip the next generation of global health leaders with the advanced research and leadership skills.
This course was planned as an immersive advanced research methodology-leadership course week followed by a year-long mentorship by an ATS leader.
Goals and deliverables of the course include:
• Personal sphere of influence and vision for three to five years documentation
• Understanding self and internal motivation
• Guided introspective understanding of one’s reactions in challenging situations
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to think strategically and globally to implement innovative initiatives
• Identifying the need for change and manage change
• Understanding basic concepts of guidelines, position statements and systematic review
• Team building
• Influencing
