Welcome Message

Assembly Chair
Fernando Holguin, MD, MPH
Welcome to the Allergy, Immunology and Inflammation (AII) assembly. We are one of the largest and most diverse of the ATS assemblies with members interested in all aspects of allergy, asthma, genetics and how the immune response and inflammation regulate host defense and all forms of lung disease, so you are sure to find your niche here. Our members from all over the globe share a desire to better understand pathogenesis of lung diseases with the hope of bringing new treatments to patients.
One of the greatest aspects of the assembly structure is the opportunities for members to get involved! Our assembly has responsibilities for overseeing programming of topics related to our expertise at the international meeting each year, for leading workshops to develop guidelines and reports for evidence-based research and clinical practice, for developing educational materials, for mentoring junior professionals, networking, international affairs and for advocacy. Many of these programs are carried out in collaboration with other assemblies.
We encourage you to reach out and volunteer your time and talents to help advance our assembly mission by working in one of our many sub-committees listed below.
