
International Travel Scholarship Award
The International Travel Scholarship Award supports outstanding trainees from around the world to attend the ATS International Conference and present their research on a global stage. This award is designed to ease the financial burden of international travel and encourage wider participation from early-career professionals outside the United States.
Award Amount
- US$ 1,500 for awardees from low- and middle-income countries.
- US$ 1,000 for awardees from high-income countries.
Awards will be issued in the form of a check, which can be cashed during the conference.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the International Travel Scholarship Award, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- The applicant is a non-U.S. citizen.
- The applicant does not currently reside in the United States.
- The applicant is an author on an abstract accepted for presentation at the ATS International Conference.
- The work described in the abstract was completed at an institution outside the United States.
- The applicant is currently a trainee (e.g., student, resident, fellow) in a program located outside the United States.
- The applicant must attend the ATS International Conference and present their abstract at the International Scholars Poster Colloquium.
- The applicant may have either a scientific abstract or a case report accepted to the International Conference.
Note: Late-breaking abstracts are not eligible for this award.
Purpose
This scholarship aims to:
- Promote international collaboration in respiratory health and related fields.
- Provide trainees with opportunities for networking, mentorship, and professional growth.
- Support the visibility of research conducted outside the United States.
