Decoding the Data: Introduction to Critical Appraisal in Healthcare Research

Panelists Jeremy Orr, MD (University of California San Diego), Sanjay Patel, MD, MS (University of Pittsburgh), and Neomi Shah, MD, MPH, MSc (Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai) will discuss the concept of critical appraisal of healthcare research, a systematic method for assessing the strengths and limitations of published works for utilization in clinical practice. Panelists will describe how to assess study design, data analysis and interpretation, and recognize common biases.
