NIOSH Issues Request for Information on Outdoor Worker Health and Exposure to Wildland Fire Smoke

In March, the  Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) issued a request for information on outdoor worker health and exposure to wildland fire smoke. NOISH is seeking public input on “approaches to assess and control the hazards of wildland fire smoke to outdoor workers. NIOSH is seeking information to develop a hazard review document that summarizes the scientific literature about the health effects from exposures to wildland fire smoke and provides recommendations to protect outdoor workers.”

The ATS will be reviewing and submitting comments on the NIOSH RFI. The comment deadline is May 13, 2024
