The Robert Crapo Memorial Innovative Research Methodologies Award honors the life achievements of Robert Crapo, MD, an international leader in pulmonary function diagnostics research. This award honors Dr. Crapo by recognizing a mid-career researcher who is developing new techniques or approaches that show potential for markedly enhancing our understanding of the respiratory structure-function relationship.
The 2026 Robert Crapo Memorial Innovative Research Methodologies Award winner is Gerald Zavorsky, PhD, RRT, RPFT, FACSM, UC Davis School of Medicine. He will present his research titled "The Double Diffusing Technique in Predicting and Classifying Disease". James Crapo, MD, the brother of the late Robert Crapo, MD, will be giving introductory remarks of his brother’s legacy in respiratory medicine. The webinar will be moderated by David Kasahara, PhD, MSc, ATSF, Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, and Ridhima Wadhwa, PhD, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
