Join the American Thoracic Society PhD and Basic and Translational Scientists Working Group for a webinar focused on early-career opportunities through the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). This session will feature NHLBI leadership, including the Division of lung diseases Director Gustavo Matute-Bello, MD, Roya Kalantari, PhD, and Marisol Espinoza-Pintucci, PhD, who will highlight early-career funding and training pathways and clarify what each opportunity is designed to support. Speakers will also share actionable strategies for how early-career investigators can interact with NHLBI throughout the application process—including how to prepare for a conversation with a Program Officer, what questions are most helpful to bring forward, and how NHLBI can support applicants with guidance on fit, scope, and next steps. The presentation of information will be followed by interactive audience driven questions and discussion.
