The Division of Lung Disease at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is convening a two-day virtual workshop entitled “Maternal and Perinatal Nutritional Programming of Lung Health in Childhood and Early Adulthood” on October 24-25, 2024, at 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
The goal of this workshop is to bring together multidisciplinary researchers, including nutritional/dietary experts, pulmonary researchers and implementation scientists, to discuss the current state of science regarding the role of maternal and perinatal nutrition and lung health in childhood and early adulthood and to identify critical research gaps, challenges and opportunities.
By the end of the workshop, we hope to achieve the overarching goal of identifying key research questions that can be addressed to advance nutrition science in respiratory health promotion and disease prevention and management in childhood.
This program will be chaired by Cindy McEvoy and Augusto Litonjua, both fellows of the ATS.
