The Ann Woolcock Memorial Award commemorates the life and legacy of the late Professor Ann Woolcock, MBBS, FRACP, AO, of the University of Sydney. An internationally renowned leader in asthma research, Professor Woolcock helped advance the understanding of the critical roles that genetics and allergens play in asthma. The award recognizes her extraordinary contributions by honoring a junior investigator who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and exceptional future potential in any area of obstructive airway disease research.
The 2026 Ann Woolcock Memorial Award recipient is Emmanuel Osei, PhD, from The University of British Columbia. Dr. Osei will present his research, "Biomimetic Models to Decipher Complex Multicellular Crosstalk in Inflammatory and Fibrotic Mechanisms of Lung Disease." Christine Jenkins, AM, MD, FRACP, FThorSoc, FAAHMS, will provide introductory remarks highlighting Professor Woolcock’s enduring legacy and her pioneering contributions to asthma research across epidemiology, physiology, and clinical medicine.
