Bonnie K. Patchen, PhD

Bonnie Patchen, PhD is a registered dietitian and an NIH T32 postdoctoral research fellow in the Channing Division of Network Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She completed her PhD and early post-doctoral training in Human Nutrition at Cornell University, with a focus on nutrients with anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties and lung health, resulting in multiple publications on the role of vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids in COVID-19, asthma and lung function. Expanding on her predoctoral work, Dr. Patchen’s current research leverages genomic and epidemiologic methodologies to study the complex intersection of multiple omics with nutrition, smoking, and other environmental and social factors in the etiology of chronic lung disease.
